"The Lord is my Shepard...."-Psalms 23 "...And I am His sheepdog"-Pastor Gene
We are a growing group of Christ-followers that believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, as told by the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God.
Even though there is much historical evidence to support the fact the Bible, as it appears in most forms, is not The Word as originally given to man. Early church leaders (in the 3rd & 4th century AD) decided on what they would or would not include. This corruption to God's Word occurred for a variety of reasons. In some cases there was innocent mistranslation from ancient manuscripts, in some cases things were left out because of a duplication of ideas, some manuscripts were not found until after they determined what was going to be included, but there is also information that appears as though it was left out to maintain control over the thoughts and actions of the parish.
It is due to these documented inconsistencies that we use the Bible for our inspiration, but also use other sources of information to our support our faith. We focus primarily on the Gospels that document Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection because we believe that following the examples that Christ put forth and living the way He told us to live is the reason He was sent to save all of the non-Jews of the world.
Despite the inaccuracies contained in The Bible, The Bible is still Holy and is still the Word of God, even if it is not the definitive Word from Him. We believe there is so much more that God has to tell us, but we have to be open to Him and willing to listen to Him and willing to follow His direction and leave our desires and dreams behind.
Reverend Eugene Miligi became an ordained minister in 2000 and began a wedding and funeral ministry. Through discussions with believers that didn't attend church and others that felt shunned because of their past, the need for a church environment that focused on love became apparent. The Lost Sheep of Christ Ministry, a calling for Reverend Miligi since childhood, held its first worship services on Good Friday, 2009. We believe that this was not a coincidence because it was the first Easter Sunday roughly 2000 years ago that Christianity began. Prior to His resurrection, Christ and His disciples were only spreading the Word to the Jews. It was not until after He rose from the dead that He told his disciples "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned." Mark 16:15-16.
Pastor Gene usually preaches from the New Living Translation Bible (translation to and from different versions can be found at Bible Gateway) due to its easy read for modern language. God's Word should not be lost to a people due to language barriers. There are many other valuable sources of information and inspiration that he references and uses to get the message to the people that need to hear it.
